Hey everyone, 26M (non smoker, British Indian, 175cm, approx 80kg, no medical conditions) here.
Over the last couple of weeks the lymph nodes on the LHS of the back of my neck and under my jaw have massively swollen up, no pain whatsoever. I had all 4 wisdom teeth, including a cyst under the LL wisdom tooth, removed under GA 1.5 months ago and I assumed it was due to a post op infection as they used to swell up every now and then prior to my surgery (not to the same extent, but one time randomly a few years ago the lymph nodes on both sides under my chin/neck became swollen, resolved soon after so I didn’t follow it up). I was kinda ignoring it because there was no pain, but yesterday everyone at work was quite concerned because they think its gotten a lot bigger so I rang up the max fax department.
Over the past month I've also noticed 4 separate small red blotches similar to psoriasis on my left forearm, left calve, LHS abdomen, LHS back. From reading up online I attributed that to dermatitis from sleeping on my LHS but I guess it could be connected. Otherwise no fever, night sweats (maybe rarely), unexplained weight loss.
I had an appt this morning where they took a panoramic and found a small area where the cyst/wisdom tooth was removed, but the consultant said that he doesn’t think they’re related as the area is quite small and also as my lymph node swelling is completely painless and I have no other signs of infection. For that reason he’s ordered a CT scan and ultrasound which I'm having later this week.
Naturally I’m suspecting the worst and potential lymphoma. My anxiety is lesser than it was yesterday as at least even if it is the worst then I’ll get diagnosed soon and hopefully treated. But just wondering if any one else’s had a similar experience and what the outcome was?
Thanks in advance :)
Edit: not sure if relevant, but 3 years ago I suffered with really bad tonsillitis about 3 times in the space of 3-4 months. Since then I've not suffered with it as bad but ever 3-6 months my right tonsil will flare up. So possibly I may have a weak immune system
