A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am sorry to hear about your lump. You have done the right thing by getting this investigated. I am sorry to hear that your sister had breast cancer and hope that she is keeping well now.

This is always a worrying wait. Unfortunately, the only way to fast track your appointment, is to go private. The 2 week wait is already a fast track, especially for cancer investigation. Try to keep yourself as busy as you can, as this helps to take your mind off of the wait.

Just because your lump is large does not necessarily mean that it is terminal. Many people have benign cysts or fibroadenoma, which can be quite large. It is a fact that out of every 10 people who attend the breast clinic, only 2 will receive a cancer diagnosis. Have you got a date for the hospital yet?

Even if it is cancer, it is not all necessarily doom and gloom. I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and I still lead a busy and fulfilling life.

Hi lcarly71, just to wish you good luck for your appointment - it is a very stressful time going through tests and results but luckily most people who attend the breast clinic do not have cancer. I hope you manage to find something to take your mind off it while you're waiting xx
