Breast clinic this Thursday absolutely terrified

Hi all

i have an appointment this Thursday as suddenly had a sharp stabbing pain in left breast, along with soreness under arms and rib pain. Didn't expect the lady nurse to find a lump but she did in the spot the pain started and referred me over the breast clinic on a 2ww. Has anyone else had these symptoms

I now feel it hurts under both my arms as well as well as in the top of my left arm which is tender to touch

  • Hi Kb502,

I'm sorry you haven't received a reply up to now - I see that your appointment is today; I hope it all goes OK.

If you see this post in time, there is an article here about what to expect at the breast clinic.

I'm sure others here will have experienced something similar, so hopefully you'll also get some more replies.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • I'm sorry to read that the nurse found a lump and referred you to the breast clinic. It seems everyone has different symptoms. I had an endless aching pain in my breast, not a stabbing pain like you.

It's must be a very scary time for you. If I'm reading your post right you went to the breast clinic yesterday? How did it go?

I hope you are OK, sending a hug x

  • Hi

    thank you for replying

it was today thankfully all was ok I have got the full ache as well but they said that can be hormonal.

Basically my lump was all calcification which is classed as the good one.

What stage are you at always here if you need to talk

  • Hi Kb502,

I am so glad to hear that all went well for you at your appointment. I am sure that you feel very relieved tonight. It always makes my day when someone gets good news!

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Jolamine

    Thank you for replying.

Firstly I would like to say that before I was brave enough to post I did read all your replies on a lot of other posts and took a lot of comfort from the compassion you have shown to others and the words that you used to say it's not cancer until you are told it is really made a difference, so I just wanted you to know that your replies really do make all the difference to people.

Secondly I wanted to ask if you were ok as I noticed you were going back for a third time?

When making the call to my best friend yesterday to say I had had the all clear she has also now been referred after a routine visit to the dr regarding a rash on her left breast they actually found a lump in her left on the 2ww.

At least I am now in a position to reassure her of what to expect and how lovely all the staff are at our local one stop clinic. Hopefully anyone else reading this will also feel more reassured.

  • Hi Kelly,

Thank you so much for your kind words. It is so pleasing to hear that you found some of my replies comforting. I came on here, as I know how helpful I found this forum in the early days of my diagnosis, when I was absolutely terrified and  I hope that I can repay some of the kindness that I found then.

I am so sorry to hear that your friend is now waiting on a clinic appointment and hope that she will be as fortunate as you.

My third round seems to be more complex, so no answers yet, but thank you for asking.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Bless you. I am so sorry to hear this.

I know you are a fighter from reading your other posts so will be thinking positive thoughts for you and keeping everything crossed.

I know I had a positive outcome but I will still be coming in here even if it's just to reassure people about the visit to the clinic or even if anyone just needs to talk whatever the outcome. Hoping that's aloud xx

  • I am glad you had good news

I'm ok thank you, good days and bad days. I have to have a vacuum biopsy end next week. I know it needs doing, but I'm not looking forward to it.

I need to get out walking more now it's stopped endlessly raining.

    x

  • Ahh bless you I can appreciate you are not looking forward to it.

I know it's easy to say but try not to stress too much and keep your mind occupied.  It's going to be a lovely warm weekend so you will be able to get out and about and hopefully relax a bit.

here if you need to vent or want to talk

keep us updated if you would like too xx

    Hi Kelly,

Thank you - the more positive thoughts the better.

Your input will not only be allowed, but warmly welcomed. So many people disappear back to their normal routines after they get the all clear. It is a fact that out of every 10 people who attend the breast clinic, only 2 will receive a cancer diagnosis. Sadly, newcmers often find this hard to believe, when they majority of people on the website, are those who are struggling with a cancer diagnosis.

You know just how scary the wait can be now and your input will be of great help to those who are waiting to be seen, or waiting for results.

We look forward to having your input in the future.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
