Consultant tomorrow- scared and nervous

Hi,

I have my appointment with the consultant from the Head and neck cancer clinic team following an abnormal ultrasound, but I have no clue what to expect, my gp kept saying he doesn't think anything is wrong and it's just a precaution referral, but the radiologist said it was a significant unexpected finding- so I have no clue what it could be what my options are, and I just feel so confused and nervous as all I have is abnormal lymph node ultrasound and a plethora of symptoms and no guidance from my GP

    Hi Fruitlover,

It is only natural to be scared and nervous about your appointment tomorrow. You will find that the clinic team are normally very understanding and helpful. Try to hold on to the fact that your GP doesn't think that there is anything wrong, but he is just making sure. They may possibly do another ultrasound tomorrow to get a clearer picture of what is wrong or even an MRI.

Yur GP cannot give any guidance, until he sees what tests are done at the clinic and what the results of these are.

I sincerely hope that your GP is correct and that nothing untoward is found. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on tomorrow. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
