Breast, armpit & collarbone pain

Hi, I went to the doctors last year june for breast pain, I then found a lump which I had a scan on in September & they said it was breast tissue (a fibrodenoma) I then got pregnant the same September & have had the same continuous breast pain in the same left breast, but due to being pregnant they are putting the pain down to hormones but the pain was there a few months before I was pregnant. I have another scan the 25th of this month as I have been going back my whole pregnancy I am extremely worried. I have found another hard lump which feels the same as the one diagnosed as a fibrodenoma. I am just wondering has anyone else experienced pain from fibrodenomas?

  • Hi Nee98,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand this must be concerning, although hopefully you can take some reassurance from what the doctors have said so far.

It's good to hear you have an appointment coming up - hopefully this will be an opportunity to get any further answers as needed.

If you feel you'd like to talk to someone in the meantime, you are welcome to give our nurses a call. You can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5 (excluding bank holidays).

Otherwise if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

Try where possible to focus on other things prior to your appointment to help keep your mind off any worries.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • I could of written this myself, I was diagnosed with a fibrodenoma 14 weeks pregnant. It ALWAYS hurt it now plays up from ovulation to period most months however I have had three more appear since giving birth. Currently awaiting another referral to get the new ones checked.
As my anxiety is going crazy even though they feel the same as the other one.

  • Thank you so much for replying!!  sorry you've found more.. I've also found another too, Went to the doctors this morning and they said it feels like thickening of tissue.. do you mind me asking how they confirmed yours was a firbodenoma? Did you have an ultrasound?? I'm just so worried that the ultrasound was wrong and they've misdiagnosed.. does your fibrodenoma cause your whole breast to hurt? Or just where the lump is? Mines all over and I just don't understand why it would hurt my full breast.. I really feel you on the anxiety especially having a baby to look after it's like I can't help think the worse and what is meant to be the happiest days of our lives are filled with worry!! Im always here if you need to talk or ask anything! Please keep me updated on what they say about the others I did read that a breast typically has 5 fibrondemonas or even more but it's just finding more lumps still brings back the same nerves as finding the first one sorry for the long reply It's just finally someone who can relate!! Xx

  • It hurts the side it's on (if that makes sense) mine was diagnosed by ultrasound and biopsies xx
