Total Duct Excision

Hi All,

I had a total duct excision 3 days ago. I'm not in too much pain, just achey and tender. I have had some bleeding but not much. I am really bruised underside of my breast, quite a way from the excision site. I also have a slight red patch on the top side of my breast. Did anyone else have this?

  • I'm glad to hear you're not in too much pain from your total duct excision Soph although I'm sorry to hear about the bruising.

    I do hope things have started to improve but if you're worried don't hesitate to get in touch with your medical team as they will be able to answer your questions and give you the answers and peace of mind you're seeking at this time.

    Hi, I had the surgery on Thursday last week and I’m so shocked at the bruising.  I can’t remember being told about the extent of the bruising.  It’s reassuring that someone had a similar experience.

    Hi l had a breast reduction to try to remove as many ducts as possible the bruising was extensive it was also really swollen, the healing took a few weeks to settle.l hope you are healing well
