Awaiting my 5th round of mole biopsy results

I had my 4th mole removal 2 weeks ago, right inbetween my toes which was an absolute pain and my mind is just going round in circles, feel like I can't focus on anything! I've had 3 other moles removed in the last year, one was severely aytpical and I then had a WLE for that, and then another was moderately atypical and the other was benign. I was told it would be up to 8 weeks for results, I'm checking the post every day but feel like I'm driving myself mad and I'm not sleeping well, always thinking about worst case scenario.  

I realise it could well be nothing but because of the severely atypical one last year I can't stop thinking about it. Recovery has been more painful on my foot so I find I can't distract myself as much! Anyone have any tips on getting through the wait?

    Hi,

    All I can suggest is that you try some meditation, mindfulness or pamper yourself with a shoulder, neck and head massage that will help release any stress built up in that area. A facial or a manicure - anything that helps relaxation if only for a while. Get a friend to drive you both to a country or coastal pub and breathe in the fresh air.

    The positive to focus on is that you and your consultant are on the ball checking out any new suspicious looking moles which means swift removal. Even if severely atypical there is a good chance it's been caught in time. Over the years I've had 7 moles/lesions removed - thankfully only the first was melanoma and the rest were either caught quickly or were benign. I'm having a suspicious lump removed soon and I know the worry will be bubbling away but I know I'm in good hands and I'm sure you will be too.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I've booked myself in for a haircut and a manicure to focus on the self care and distraction!! 

    You're so right about the fact that I've been seen so quickly and I'm lucky to be monitored. So sorry to hear about the melanoma diagnosis and best of luck for the lump removal. I hope it goes as smoothly as possible.
