Are all Lletz results discussed at a MDT meeting?

I had a lletz procedure 3 weeks ago today and today received a letter saying they will be discussing my results (which I've not seen) at the monthly MDT meeting on 11th May and they will then write to my GP and me with my follow up plan.

Are all lletz results discussed at MDT or does this mean something more sinister?  The dr who did it said I would just need a follow up smear in 6 months, no other treatment was discussed when I had the lletz.  Why haven't they given me my results if they have them?

I am a worrier by nature so this isnt helpful, reaching out for anyone who can help.

  • Hello JennyEm

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently needed to have a LLETZ procedure and that you're now waiting for the results. It's understandable that you may be feeling anxious about things.

I'm afraid that I don't know the answer to your question regarding all results being reviewed by an MDT. There could be many reasons that the team wants to review the results and it doesn't automatically mean that there is a cancer diagnosis or a further problem that needs treatment.

I know that waiting for results can be a worrisome time. If you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm excluding bank holidays.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
