Confused

Hello,

I had a brain and spine MRI, then I recieved a letter in the post for a Second MRI with contrast for head that is coming soon. Now I am seeing a neurosurgeon within the next two weeks before my second scan, however no one is telling me why. I find it both confusing and distressing. My anexity is telling me to run away from it all and to not go see the neurosugeon. I just do not have a clue what it is about and I have asked to recieve no anwsers.

anybody know if I should be worried? why would I see a neurosurgeon before my second scan?

thank you

  • Hi Bella,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

I am so sorry to hear how confused you are. It is impossible to say why you have been referred to see a neurosurgeon, prior to your second MRI. The only way that you will find out is to ask why this is happening. I sincerely hope that you get to see the neurosurgeon soon and that he can give you some answers.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hello,

so appears the GP has made an error in not sending me a letter from the centre, i had to make a phone call with GP and ask them to look through my records to find this out.

turns out i have a protusion in C4/5 on my spine and pineal cysts in my brain hence all the follow up appointments. I feel better knowing rather than not knowing now i can somewhat calmly wait for the appointment on the 17th to discuss things with the neurgeon.

Thank you for replying to me.

    Hi Bella,

I'm glad to hear that you now have a better idea of the need for follow up. Hopefully, the neurosurgeon will be able to explain more about this when you see him on 17th.

You might find it helpful to write down a list of any questions you have before your consultation. It is all too easy to forget something important during an appointment.

Please let us know how you get on and remember, that we are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
