Unusual bleeding on Cerazette after several years. Worried

Hello,

I've been on Cerazette for several years now to stop my periods as they were very heavy and the PMS was horrendous, I've been taking it regularly ever since but for the last 8 weeks I have been bleeding constantly, not heavy, just like a light period, been a little heavier the last few days.  I'm concerned now as it's not showing any signs of stopping despite still taking the Cerazette every day. I'm 48, has anyone else experienced anything like this?  Should I contact my GP?  Thanks for any advice on this.

  • I'm sorry to hear you've started to have some unusual bleeding after being on Cerazette for quite some time.

    As you've mentioned it's possibly getting worse, it would be best to get in touch with your GP as they'll be able to investigate and let you know if this is any cause for concern.

    Hopefully that won't be the case but it's always better to be safe when something like this happens so I hope you're able to get booked in and won't have to wait too long to get some much needed answers and peace of mind.

    I'm sure some of our members who have had a similar experience will share with their stories and advice with you soon as well.
