Really confused - urgent referral

Hi all, sorry for long post.

I was admitted 3 weeks ago to hospital and ended up having my gall bladder removed. Whilst they were completing all scans CT MRI and ultrasound they also picked up lesion in my Adenexal region. 4x2x4 in size.
After my surgery the hospital referred me to gynaecology.
I received a letter with an appt the other day.
I then received  another one with a change of appt.

No problem

this afternoon, I recover a phone call apologising that they were going to have to move my appt again and apologising as they knew it would be over the 2 weeks. I asked what that was about, she said that from the original referral I was put to the general clinic, however, they received an email from the consultant to say that I needed to go into the 2 week pathway.

I have had no contact about this or know why??

I am so bloody scared, can they tell things from scans?

thanks all and hope this makes sense

  • Hi Missy and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry to hear of the confusion surrounding your referral and for the worry this is understandably causing.

You could try getting in touch with the consultant's secretary to find out why you've been moved on to the 2 week pathway but in the meantime, I hope this information we have about urgent referrals will help put your mind at ease whilst you wait.

Hopefully you will receive some support and advice from the community soon but if you'd like to talk things through with one of our nurses, you can do so from Tuesday onwards on 0808 800 4040 between 9a.m - 5p.m.

We hope you're able to find out more soon Missy and wish you all the best with your appointment when the time comes.

    Kind regards,
