I'm sorry to hear that you have some ongoing health concerns at the moment and that you're now waiting for an appointment with the ENT specialists.

I had thyroid cancer three years ago and none of your symptoms sound familiar. My only symptom was a lump on my neck that was quite large, think a couple of inches in diamater, maybe the size of an Adam's apple sort of thing? It was hard, not movable. It didn't cause any pain and there were no other symptoms.

Thyroid cancer is also generally fairly easily treatable. It's usually just a matter of having your thyroid removed. Which does mean being on medication for thyroid function for the rest of your life, so I don't mean to play it down too much, but I mean, it's rarely life threatening or likely to require ongoing treatment like chemotherapy or radiotherapy.

And benign thyroid nodules are far more common than cancerous ones, like 95% are completely benign.

I know your symptoms might not be caused by anything to do with the thyroid at all, but as it was mentioned as a possibility, I thought I'd weigh in.

Margaret Mary was ur lump hard I visited my gp this week and he thinks my big lump is a goiter I'm having bloods n scan but not urgent he told me because it was soft it's a good sign 

Yeah, it was hard.

I'm fine, thanks. I had surgery to remove my thyroid and all the lymph nodes on one side of my neck back in January 2020 and I woke up after surgery to the surgeon saying, "we got it all" and that was really that. I've had no real problems since.
