Hodgkins lymphoma

I don't really know what I am looking for here but will begin.. 1 year ago I went to the doctor with lymp nodes in my neck - referred to ENT. ENT felt them and said lumps don't feel concerning and that was that.

However one year later I still have the lymp nodes and now have another one in my neck, behind my ear (largest one) and on my face infront of ear at both sides. I have been having night sweats for 6 weeks now every single night. I am also very tired but I also have children work and study so I just put it down to this.

I went back to the GP - the GP felt the lymph nodes, also checked my armpits and groin - and said there are a few in my groin also.

I had previously had blood tests that showed low iron and low red blood cells.

I have another blood test next week to check for abnormal cells and have also been referred to haematology.

I have been trying not to worry and put it to the back of my mind as I was extremely anxious last year when I first felt the lumps and had felt reassured they were nothing to be concerned about. Now I am wondering what if it is something?!

I know you aren't supposed to Google but I am very guilty of this - hodgkins lymphoma always pops up, it isn't something I mentioned to the GP.

Again I don't really know what I am looking for maybe to here other people's experiences/advice/support.

Thanks for reading

  • Hi HHH23,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I can understand your concerns about this and I know it's never easy when there is this uncertainty.

It's good to hear you have a referral in place as this will mean you get the answers you need.

As you say, it is best to steer clear of Google as the information will often not be relevant and it only tends to increase worries.

If others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

I hope it's not too long to wait for your appointment and for you to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
