Hi I'm new
I've had a bit of a rollercoaster over last few weeks and really struggling with the waiting for things to happen.
I'm 46 if it's significant, around December time I started bleeding between periods and I have a history 2 years ago of endometrial ablation, biopsy and removal of polyp following my body rejecting 3 coils.
Anyway fast forward the symptoms then were similar to the symptoms I have had over last few months, intermittent bleeding, some pain and tiredness. I didn't go to a gp for a few months as my DH was undergoing an op himself and we were moving house and daughter had just given birth, so lots going on.
Got to March and I had a couple of heavier bleeds between periods which worried me (just to put it out there, I still bleed every month for 7 days following ablation but lighter, I also did on the mirena coil), I have been a heavy period bleeder since the age of 15 and anaemic for the majority of that time. So I made app with gp who referred for 2ww USS, and a bundle of bloods done. My CA125 came back high 124 which I wasn't overly worried about as I know the result could be a heap of other things apart from cancer. I was booked for USS 4 weeks after referral (funny 2ww), I chose to have a private scan to hurry things along predicting to be told findings of a polyp again, but as it was a private scan they were able to tell me all the findings there and then, they could not find my left ovary but they confirmed my right ovary had 6cm endometrioma cyst with 2 small (1cm and 5mm) solid components within and some calcification, I wasn't expecting that. From what I have googled (I know we shouldn't) an endometrioma cyst bigger than 4cm should be surgically removed as there is a higher chance of rupture and malignancy if left to get bigger, so this is a little scary now. Also the sonographer did sound surprised I had never been diagnosed with endometriosis as she suspects I have this moderately stage 3 at least.
Roll on a few days I had my NHS scan which confirmed the same findings but she was also able to tell me I have an infiltrating uterus, any thoughts on this?, I'm a little unclear on what this really is.
I don't have gp follow up app to discuss findings for almost 3 weeks as they have no appointments sooner, I think I'll be going out of my mind by then, any suggestions?
Sorry about my huge story just trying to paint the whole picture.
