Lymph node in armpit

Hi there i am hoping someone in the same position can offer some advice I had an appointment at the breast clinic recently had a mammogram, ultrasound and fine needle aspiration and then a few core biopsies taken from a lump in my armpit. I had a phonecall a week later confirming it was benign but that they had discussed at the MDT meeting and as one of the lymph nodes had a slightly unusual appearance they would like to remove it to test further that was almost 3 weeks ago and I feel like im constantly watching my phone for a call or checking the post no one knows except for my husband and my boss.  The nurse had stated it would be done within 1-2 weeks and would I be available for a cancellation I of course said yes.  I would be very grateful for anyone's help as I'm very anxious at present and just want to add my dad is currently in the final stages of pancreatic cancer also so I don't want to alarm my family unless needed

  • Hi Hopeful,

This is just the news that I wanted to hear. It is always so heartening when someone gets good news and it gives hope to so many others. Waiting for further tests and results is always a worrying time and it especially good to see someone with good news at the end of it all. I sincerely hope that you and your family have managed to celebrate in style.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi Hopeful,

I was afraid to ask about your dad, but am delighted to hear that he is still doing as well as possible. Treasure the time you all have left with him and try to make some family memories. We are always here for you in this respect too.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
