I went to the doc today and was told I need a thyroid scan for suspected goiter but never mentioned a 2 week referral do Gp inform you if it is a 2 week referral just said I would need a scan and receive a letter with appointment
Very likely it's basically just routine. Any goiter or thyroid cyst has to be checked for cancer, I think. It's pretty likely you'll have a biopsy too. None of this means they think it is cancer or even that they think it likely. I think something like 95% of cases are completely benign, but they have to check just in case.
