MRI booked before biopsy results

Hello, 3 weeks ago I found a change (not a lump) in my right breast so went to my GP, she sent me to the breast clinic and the appointment came through for 1 week later. I had 3 mammograms, an ultrasound and a biopsy. The consultant said at the end of the appointment "it seems to be contained to the breast and not in the lymph glands" and that now they would book me in for an MRI. When I asked if I would have the MRI before I had the biopsy results he said no. I've now had my appointment to see the consultant through for a week today (so from going to my GP to results will only be 4 weeks). The consultant said that there's a 2cm mass that they're concerned about. I'm hoping that if it is cancer that they've caught it early? Any advice or feedback gratefully received!
