Skin cancer scare

So I've had a lump near my eye for 10 months as a result of an injury that caused a graze on my skin

first plastic surgeon didn't think it was too concerning but 2nd one did :-( 

I've got my biopsy next week but have been booked in for an MRI tomorrow 

Does this mean they think if I have got cancer it may have spread 

he did feel my lymph nodes too and didn't mention that he found anything their

I'm so scared right now I can't even leave the house, eat watch tv etc maybe I'm just overthinking it

    I'm sorry to hear that you're waiting for a biopsy on a lump at the moment. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious ahead of your appointment next week. 

    There could be many reasons that an MRI was requested. It may just be that the team needs more information about the lump prior to the biopsy next week, particularly if it's close to your eye or other important structures in the face such as nerves, etc. 

    I can see that you've also posted in our Ask the Nurses topic area and I'm sure that you'll get a reply from them soon as well. Hopefully, they will be able to give you some reassurance but if you'd prefer to chat with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.
