I went for a colposcopy following an abnormal smear last week. During the colposcopy I was told there was a large area of abnormal cells so they wouldn't do any treatment there and then as they would prefer to put me under general anaesthetic. After the colposcopy, I sat with the consultant and she told me there is a large area of either precancerous cells or cancer, but she couldn't tell. She sent my biopsy off urgently (I think she said this would take about two weeks?) and referred me for an MRI. I got a call the following day to go in for the MRI, where I was told a doctor would read my results the same day as it was an urgent referral, but I would probably find out the results when the biopsy is back as well.
I'm not sure what I'm getting at with this post but the waiting is driving me mad - it's only been 6 days so I can't ring them yet and I can't fault how quickly they've sorted everything, but I feel like I'm going insane!! I can't speak to anyone about it except for my partner as I don't want to worry everyone before I actually know what's going on. Aghhhh!!
