Hi
Im hoping people might be able to help me from their own experiences...
I visited my GP on 6th march as had noticed a mole on my side looked a bit different. Ive had it for years, flat medium brown shade and oval, 12mm x 6mm and i spotted a slightly darker small bump on it that was soft and smooth (like the mole)
GP referred me to dermatology under the 2 week rule and sent them photos.
when I saw the dermstologist he examined it closely and said he was "less concerned" seeing it there than he had been looking at the GPs photos but it was an abnormal looking mole that should be removed.
It was removed and they gave me an appointment for 3 weeks time (this Friday) but said results may be released prior then and given over the phone.
Im now really worrying that I am needed at this appointment meaning it must be bad news. I did call the Dermatology department and they said some results were delayed due to the Easter bank holiday and if I dont get a call by tomorrow afternoon I must attend the appointment.
Am I right to expect a melanoma diagnosis if i have to go on Friday or could it be pre-cancerous and I would still need to go?
Im hoping that the Dermatologist might have prepared me more if he saw very worrying things but he did say he was "less concerned"
Any advice would be really appreciated - sorry for the long post, Im just so anxious
