Possible cervical cancer... So many symptoms...

Hi, I'm 38 mother of 2...

For the last 6 months I've been having mounting symptoms... All of which my GP has simply explained away as post pregnancy normalcy (my youngest is 10 months...

Symptoms are:
Extreme fatigue
Low back pain
Irregular bleeding often severely heavy
Severe period like pains (every day)
Lower back pain (like labor style)
Swollen lymph node in groin and armpits
Bleeding after sex

Loss of appetite

Feeling full really quick

Pooong more often

Peeing more often

Having to force start Peeing.

I finally got another GP opinion who was stunned my GP hadn't bothered to do an internal exam, made me an appointment for the following day, where she did an internal and came up saying "im so sorry"

She saw lesions on my cervix and has referred me for colposcopy and biopsy, ultrasound (since had) and CT.

I also have HS which gives me a 60% higher risk of female cancers and I'm 3times more likely to develop SCC.

I have constant (now) pain and pressure feeling like my cervix and womb is going to literally fall out...

Anyone got any advice?? I'm convinced it's cancer. It's like an inner knowing feeling....

  • Welcome to our forum, Yogamama.

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, I'm sure it was difficult to deal with having your symptoms overlooked and oversimplified by your first GP but I'm glad you found a second opinion and that this last one is on the case now.

We have other Cancer Chat members who can probably relate to what you describe and I hope some of them will come along shortly to chat with you and give advice.

The other thing I wanted to mention is that we have a nurses' helpline you can reach if speaking with someone on the phone might help. Our nurses They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m on this freephone 0808 800 4040.

Once you know more, please come back and give us an update. We're keeping our fingers crossed that your suspicions will turn out to be nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes,
