Inflammatory breast cancer

Hi everyone,

I'd like some advice. Today I woke up with a tender breast and a pink hot patch of skin next to my nipple. I've read that mastitis in uncommon in women who aren't breastfeeding and I also don't feel unwell. So I'm concerned about it being inflammatory breast cancer. Does anyone here have it and how did it start?

    Hi Helly, I don't know what this might be, but I would get it checked by my GP as soon as possible if I were you. It may just be an infection, but I would want to be referred to a breast clinic to rule out anything sinister. I don't want to cause any anxiety but I would rather know that it's nothing to worry about. Would you come back and let us know how you get on? Wishing you all the best. Amy x

    I went to my gp yesterday and she was unconcerned, yet still didn't have an explanation for what it is. We booked a follow up appt for Monday and if its still there I'm going to ask to be referred to breast clinic. It's so horrible waiting I have anxiety anyway so I'm really worrying about it and can't stop. Thanks for your reply, I will update once I've got further news xx
