So very frightened - update

After filling in an online form for my doctors on Tuesday with photos of the lump on my right clavicle. I had a response yesterday, a text, offering a phone call chat on the 20th April, so, 3 weeks away.

I've spoken to the surgery and explained my concerns, especially with breast cancer in my family and asked for help sooner, someone will now ring me this afternoon.
I suppose it's easy to believe that as they don't see the urgency, it's all ok, but, I also know I need my big girl pants on and this must be dealt with.

Would be interested to hear from anyone who had lump on right collarbone/clavicle and the outcome. Thank you

  • Hi Fluffs,

I am glad to hear that it's not your gallstones that are keeping you awake and I hope that you manage to get them sorted soon.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Morning Fluffs,

Had appointment at breast clinic, saw consultant, he examined the lump and was confident it wasn't linked to a breast issue or part of lymphatic system. He said he felt it was a bone rather than a lump.
I've a separate ultra sound next week to check if it's a tissue or skeleton problem, more waiting & worrying, but, felt so lucky to walking away from the clinic yesterday when many others wouldn't have had the same experience. How are you feeling?

  • Morning Bexx

That's such good news I'm delighted for you!  You must be so relieved.  It can be sorted now without the gut wrenching.

I'm ok thanks catching up on sleep and trying to calm down.  Anxiety still comes in waves it's the strangest thing I've not had it before.  Think maybe I was so nervous it'll take a little while.

I hope you're planning something lovely to celebrate?  You did so well those big girl pants did you proud .

  • Good morning Fluffs,

    How are you?

Had an ultra sound yesterday, fabulous clinician, who talked me through everything she saw on the clavicle, feel damn lucky that it's nothing serious. It is a bone, tissue injury, may cause me pain in the future, but, nothing serious. She even checked my lymph nodes in the area and through my neck, all clear from that check also.

Please let me know how everything goes for you, we've come along way from that night chat.

    hugs

  • Oh Bexx I'm delighted for you!  You can breathe again .  We have come a long way since that night!

I'm ok thanks GP next week Consultant the week after.  I'm lucky pain wise full blown attacks don't happen often but I'm uncomfortable and eating is scary I won't miss that at all!

I'm still struggling a bit with anxiety I'm not sure why, possibly just take a while to settle after all the upset with diagnosis.

I hope you plan to do something lovely for yourself now.  You've been amazing!  I'm grateful you were there that dreaded night I really am. x
