I've had a hard lump/swollen lymph node in my neck for a good few years now. I periodically go into panic mode and feel convinced that it must be slow growing lymphoma, so I take myself off to the GP who says that it won't be. But how do they know for sure? I don't ask many questions because I don't want to come across as though I'm doubting their professional judgement, but I just can't fathom how they could possibly be so sure by just feeling the lump.
Its very hard and painless, doesn't move anywhere. I've not helped myself by trying to Google for other explanations because of course every result assured me that it's definitely cancer.
Can somebody please reassure me that my Doctor knows what he's doing? I haven't been able to eat or sleep properly in weeks because of the worry. Thank you.
