Suspected fibroadenoma

Hi, I'm 30 years old and found a lump in my right breast 3 weeks ago, was referred to breast clinic by GP and had appointment last week. 
 

I had an ultrasound and a biopsy on the day; the nurse who examined me said she felt it was benign so then to be told I need a biopsy I went into shock. 
 

I have just received a letter to state it is a suspected benign fibroadenoma of 4cm but still need to wait for histology report. Is 4cm considered big or small? 
this sounds promising but I still feel sick with worry waiting for the biopsy results :( x

    Hi hope you are doing ok. Fibroamenona can grow as big as 10cm. Most are noticed when they are the size of yours.  They are usually fibrous tissue that grows over time. Sometimes they go on their own and occasionally they are surgically removed. 

    They don't spread to other parts of your body, they remain and grow with in the breast.

    Do you know roughly the normal waiting time for results? 
    I have been told 10 days, then when I phoned as hadn't heard I got told 3 weeks, it's been 3 weeks so I called again and they have now said 2-4. Getting really frustrated as you can imagine :(

    Hi Hun unfortunately the waiting time is anything from 2/4 Weeks. I'm awaiting results from my surgery which was on 28th March and was told to expect a wait of 4 weeks.  Seems a long time especially when you are worrying about what they are going to say. Hope yours come bk soon. Xx always here if you need to chat. X

    Hi,

    I had one of these and it grew so big it was surgically removed at the age of 21

    I had another at the age of 26 which they biopsied but did eventually disappear by itself

    Both were fibroadenoma 

    Xx
