Small dent (freaking out!)

Hello, I'm a 22yo female with no family history of cancer besides a grandfather who had prostate cancer. Over the past few days I've noticed a tiny indentation, like a finger print size, on my right breast just above my nipple. It's only visible when I pull the skin up. No noticeable lumps. I'm currently on my period and have very sore breasts leading up to and during my period but besides that, no other symptoms. My lymph nodes are sore at the moment but I have Covid right now also. Had a blood test about 3 weeks ago that was perfect. I have recently lost a decent amount of weight (3stones). I'm a huge hypochondriac and obviously all online answers point straight to cancer but my gp isn't available till 2 weeks. I'm looking for some peace of mind to be honest if anyone can help

  • Hi Hun. Sorry to hear your unable to get to see GP for 2weeks. Why don't you try calling your local breast clinic and see what they say. Good luck. X

  • I Can Defo Give You Some Reassurance. I Had The Same Thing, But Mine Is Below My Nipple But Only When I Lift My Arm Up To The Side. As If I Was To Show You My Muscles Lol ... I Went To Breast Clinic And I Funnily Enough Have Lost 3st In Weight. I Had An Ultrasound And They Said It Was Fatty Tissue That I've Lost And Has Caused The Dent. Mine Is Quite A Large Dent And When Stood Side Ways In A Mirror It Looks Awful. Hope This Helps :) x

  • Hi, appointment in two weeks sounds sensible as you'll be over your period and hopefully over Covid too. In the meantime keep busy with fun things and stay away from Google as that will only increase your anxiety. I know it's worrying (I've been there) but breast cancer at your age is rare and 80-90% of all referrals turn out to be benign. Stay strong and let us know how you get on. Big hug x
