Suspicious Breast Calcifications and swollen lymph nodes

Update from my last post - what should have been just one imaging appointement turned into a lot more on the day where they are "concerned". Anyone had ultrasound, biopsies, and metal clips inserted as a result of "suspicious calcifications" in breast and been given the all clear?

Waiting for test results and fearing the worst, particularly as I have swollen lymph nodes too which have also been biopsied.

I know every case is different and I just have to wait for the results etc. but asking on here just in case anyone has been through anything similar - in particular breast lump, being told there are suspicious calcifications AND swollen lymph nodes

Thanks

  • So sorry to hear this [@HopefulNorthener]‍. Hopefully they caught it early? I can imagine it's terrifying - I'm petrified myself and still can't believe this is happening!

I asked various nurses/consultants at each appointment "is it cancer?" but they didn't answer the question. Just round about responses like "at least you're here now". "there's definitely something there" or "let's find out exactly what it is and then the next journey will be to get rid of it" etc. which makes me really angry because I've been going nuts with anxiety and they haven't helped the situation one bit!

Not long to go now till I find out for sure

  • Oh no [@laraj]‍ - this is why I think my ship has sailed ages ago re: getting an all clear too! All this really sucks beyond explanation...

How are you coping? x ️

  • I asked outright they just said mmm suspicious I said is this BC they would not commit but said suspicious small

so I had my appointment 7 days later it was confirmed

that was July 22 it's a while ago now I'm back to my normal self and have been for a long time x

i hope you get positive results

    love Lara ️

  • When do you get results ? ️

  • I have a horrible feeling my results won't be positive as the lump is quite big (6cm) plus swollen lymph nodes despite a letter 2 weeks ago advising "clear axilla" after the consultant said "I can't feel anything" despite me pointing out where the problem was, but then last week they biopsied the enlarged lymph nodes too. I shall be taking that letter along with me tomorrow!

What was the diagnosis if you don't mind me asking e.g. what stage etc.? And what treatment plan? The word I don't want to ever hear is chemo... I feel like just giving up and not even going tomorrow or near any medics/docs ever again. Had enough already - so exhausted mentally and the next round of hell following my dear dad's sudden death has only just begun since 2nd March.

  • Anxiety

mine was small it was ber2 negative no chemo I had the Oncotype DX test I demanded it score came back low had 5 radiotherapy sesuins now taje Tamoxicen which are fine

I was told on first appointment suspicion so I got prepared for a diagnosis I went private so from 1 st appointment to operation was 14 days

I'm here to help when do you get results ? ️

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your dad ️

  • My grade was 2 size was 1.3 cm

  • Thanks [@laraj]‍ ‍ ️

Sorry to read all you've had to endure, but glad you are in a better place now and hope it stays that way!

Face to face consultation is tomorrow at 9am - my dad's death took an enormous toll on me where we were so close - had a total meltdown and signed off work for 3 months which my employers were not happy about... it's all too much again tbh and work is not sympathetic about so many short-notice appointments which doesn't help.

  • Stay off work until you have time to deal with your dads passing work comes after you come first you have had alot to deal with

I hope you post is a good outcome tomorrow let me no how you get on I'm always here to chat or help x

    love Lara ️
