Womb Biopsy

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering if anyone can help. I'm really struggling and getting passed about between consultants at the moment, no one is being straight with me and I feel like despite repeating my symptoms for the past 3 months I'm not being taken seriously.

Ive had to push for a womb biopsy which I had 3 weeks ago, I've been on decapeptyl injections for 4 months for a fibroid which has not shrunk from 10cm. I'm still getting severe pains, bloating, pain in my hip and had pneumonia (which I'm told isn't related). I was told by my first consultant that breathing issues is a side affect of the treatment however pneumonia is not.

Despite the treatment not working, I then started bleeding again which technically I shouldn't have been because the treatment stoops your ovaries working. I ended up going for another scan and my womb lining was flagged as being 7.5mm which concerned the sonographer.

I was then referred to a fertility doctor which despite being told I can't have my eggs frozen, he then said that he wasn't that worried about it all either.

I'm just really really frustrated, I'm constantly at a level 7 pain, the treatment didn't shrink the fibroid infact it grew from the first scan, my womb lining is now thicker but it just feels they aren't concerned. Where for me there are too many variables that don't add up.

I'm still waiting for my results, I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, maybe the wait is normal? I'm just really concerned that with having more symptoms and a fibroid that hasn't reacted to a treatment that had a 94% success rate of shrinking fibroids, that they may have mis diagnosed something.

Im not one to worry, I'm just really frustrated. My step mum passed away of ovarian cancer after being misdiagnosed for a whole year being told it was menopause then when she finally got diagnosed it was stage 3.

Sending good vibes to all going through similar situations right now

  • Hi Milan83,

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through these difficulties and also finding it difficult to get answers.

It's good to hear you've had the biopsy - this should provide some useful information, and I hope it's not too much longer to wait for this. I'm not sure if they gave you an expected timeframe for when to expect the results, but if not then as it has been three weeks it hopefully shouldn't be much longer.

In the meantime if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
