Lump in breast waiting for test

Hi

j found a lump in my breast about 7 weeks ago I thought it maybe to do with periods so I left it a few weeks then started ringing the doctor I only managed to get an appointment 2 weeks ago and he has said it's around 1half peas in size and referred me for tests,

they are very backed up and can't fit me in until mid April so it's a bit of a wait and I'm concerned it may have got bigger from when I found it at first 7 weeks ago. It's deep in the tissue doesn't seem to move at all but no other symptoms and it is a inch or so above the nipple. The doctor has said he has asked for a biopsy to be done is this normal before a mammogram and can anyone give me an idea of what to expect can I take someone with me things like that.

    lots of lumps turn out to be ok only 2 in ten get a cancer diagnosis for me was bad news but that was july 22 I'm fully recovered now you have done the best thing get it checked definitely take someone with you x

    thanks so much for replying, I'm so sorry that yours wasn't good news but glad your doing well now! 
     

    I don't want to talk to my family to much about it don't want them to worry and it's so nice to speak to someone that has been through similar,

    do you mind me asking if you had any symptoms?

    I had a stage 1A ovarian tumour removed from my ovary 8 years ago at 27 so I'm kind of resolved to the fact that it is likely it won't be great news but from what Iv read the size is a good thing prob low stage if anything.

    I am trying to get on with life Iv just started a really good job and we bought our first house so there is loads to keep me occupied but I feel like a duck like under it all my feet are paddling like crazy lol x
