Hi there,
I am new to this forum and I guess looking for any advice/shred experinces.
For as long as I can remember, since my late teens, I have had a "sensitive" tummy (I am just about to turn 44). Although never diagnosed I have always thought it was IBS.
In recent months (2) I have been experiencing a very bloated tummy and needing to poo after I eat. Breakfast seems to be fine but as soon as I eat anything heavier it goes straight through me. It starts as a loose stool and then throughout the day goes more to liquid. I can go anywhere between 3 and 7 times a day I have a constant lower back ache, in the small of my back and am petrified it is something sinister.
I have tarted a food diary but there is nothing obvios that is causing it and I am now trying to follow a low FODMAP diet although so far this hasn;t changed anything.
I have done a stool sample and am awaiting the results, although it has been two weeks and these are still not back yet. The doctor examined my tummy and said it felt fine but I said my concern was cancer so he asked me to do a FIT test. I am have been waiting for a solid stool for days but sadly I have had to do it with the most solid one I can, which isn't very solid at all and am worried that the solution has washed the sample away.
Basically, I am concerned that my symptoms (bloating, wind and exessive pooing, in particualr after eating and lower back ache) point towards cancer. I am pertirfied of being sick, I have a phobia called emetophobia and am already worried that if they send me for a colonoscopy the prep will make me sick.
Has anyone else experienced similar symptoms?
