Please bear with me here, I'm not trying to scare you but sometimes our gp's need pushing quicker and further using the knowledge we have.

I've very recently lost my mum, she was 54, to pancreatic cancer.

She only found out due to routine blood tests picking up ca125 with a reading of 568. The doctor suspected ovarian cancer and referred her to the gynae. They confirmed it wasn't ovarian after doing an internal and continued with a ct scan where the pancreatic with liver mets was discovered. 

Some of her symptoms were:

- Lower back pain

- loss of appetite

- nausea and sickess

- bloatedness

She also experienced:

- weight loss

- tiredness

- abdominal pain 

Again, I'm not saying this to panic you and the symptoms you have could be a number of things as can a ca125 marker. 
 

But I'd not forgive myself if I wasn't open and honest and your symptoms were something more sinister, especially with them not updating you until May.

Do what you will with the above, but I'd be pushing the GP a little harder to try and write off pancreatic issues, as although it's a silent killer, the doctors also seem to be very slow to respond and pick up on the most obvious symptoms that people experience.

It may not be this if they've not picked up on the mri but I thought it was worth a mention.

Again, sorry if my reply seems a little dark, it's not my intention to put fear into people! I just want to do everything I can to make sure people don't experience what we've experienced in recent weeks!

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate your honesty. I will GP back to my GP as I need answers as to why I am feeling no better.

No problem, I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though!
