My mum had a shadow on her lung after a bout of pneumonia, we all thought the worse as she was a heavy smoker for years and years. It turned out to be related to the infection and cleared eventually on its own. 

It's  not always the worst but the worry is awful and steals your peace of mind. 

As my husband says, worry about something when you know there's something to worry about. It doesn't change tomorrow but takes away today. 

Easier said than done I know.

I would probably tell everyone not to worry about it until you get a diagnosis, but just the word shadow, instantly made Cancer jump into my head. 
I was supposed to get a phone call yesterday from the ct department. Had my phone in my hand all day, and they didn't ring. I'm now sitting on the stairs waiting for the post, hoping they sent my appointment that way rather than ring me.

Reading posts on here really is a way of realising I'm not alone in this, and thanks again for the reply.
