Worried about Brain Tumour

Good morning all,

sorry to take up everyone's time, but I feel I have created my own health anxiety but just looking for some reassurance. I have been have intermittent headaches for around 3/4 months now. I have had multiple blood tests (no issues) and a head CT scan that came back as normal. When looking into the scan a bit more (which I shouldn't do as this adds to my anxiety) it states:

No space-occupying lesions, major territorial infarct or intracranial
bleed.
.
Normal grey-white matter differentiation.
.
Overall grossly normal CT appearance of the brain parenchyma and CSF
spaces.
.
No features to suggest sinusitis or otomastoiditis.
.
No bone lesions noted.

is this a good thing? I  really clueless with this type of thing. I'm exhausted with the constant worry and feel I may have overstimulated with stress which could be causing the headaches.

thanks for taking the time to read this.

  • Hello Dan,

I noticed you hadn't yet received a response and wanted to say hello and hopefully someone else who has had a similar experience will join me soon and welcome you to our friendly community.

Sorry to hear you have been having those intermittent headaches for 4 months now. It's reassuring though that your tests and CT scan have come back normal. Unfortunately no one here will have the expertise to decipher your CT scan results but perhaps you could ring your GP tomorrow and have a good chat about these results? It may give you some reassurance to talk to your doctor about your fear of it being a brain tumour despite the CT scan being clear.

Once you have discussed your CT scan results, it would be useful too to see with your GP what could be the cause of these headaches, whether they could for example be migraines or other types of headaches for which there is treatment you could benefit from. So have this conversation with your GP as soon as you can. Headaches are not fun and can really interfere with our lives so the earlier you can find the right treatment for these, the better it will be for you. You will then be able to carry on with your day without this intense, often disruptive pain.

    Best wishes,
