Cervical biopsy results

I had a cervical biopsy 2 weeks ago after gp referral following post menopausal bleeding. Letter sent to gp states "A cervical vascular lesion with surface vessels firm in nature and it was suspicious"  This sounds worrying to me, can anyone explain it anymore, or had the same?

I'm trying to second guess everything whilst waiting for the results, next appointment in 2 weeks.

Thank you

  • Hello angie389474 and a warm welcome to Cancer Chat,

It can be a bit stressful to see these letters from the GP which are in medical jargon that we cannot easily understand. Unfortunately, no one here will be able to tell you what it really means and I hope that you can soon ring your GP and ask them to decipher it all for you.

I hope that others who have had the same before will be along and share their experience with you. In the meantime,  I can imagine that this long wait for results is a bit all consuming and a rather anxious period for you. It's best if you can not to try and second guess everything or it will make you even more worried and to keep well away from the temptation to decode the medical lingo on Google (we've all done it!). While waiting for results, I thought I would share with you these helpful tips to help you cope while waiting for important news.

Everything crossed for you! I hope you find out more soon about what this all means.

    Best wishes,
