Lump in breast

Hi everyone, I've been reading these threads and thought I'd join :)

I've recently noticed a lump in my right breast, just off set off my cleavage. It's quite deep in & wouldn't really be felt in doing a breast check how we are advised ie pads of fingers - I can only feel it with my fingertips. It's not really a defined lump, it's strange doesn't seem to have a margin. Anyhoo - I digress, my doctor has referred me for the 2WW to the breast clinic and I'm just so nervous. So really I'm just looking for words of wisdom on how to stay positive during this time. I do suffer with health anxiety & automatically think of the worse case scenario. The doctor thinks my age (33) and the fact it feels smooth and movable are positives. I don't look too much in to the age thing tho as my aunty was diagnosed with BC @ 33 and a friend was only 24.

  • Hi      it's hard not to worry but most lumps are not cancerous, there's many other breast conditions.  When you go to the breast clinic take someone with you they can hear what the dr says. We all forget or don't ask the questions that have been giving us concern.  Make a list no one will mind you checking that your queries have been answered.

The breast drs and nurses are up to date on the current treatment much better than google.  Take something to read to pass the time.  The appointments do take a while as you may see the consultant then have mammogram or ultrasounds, but the clinic is one stop and they try to give you results on the day.
l hope you have your appointment soon.

    take care
