Hi
Currently waiting for biopsy results, but if it's bad news would the hospital call you in for a face to face with the consultant or tell you via letter? What were your experiences please and how were you told you had cancer?

I was told face to face hope this helps love Lara ️
Face to face positive thinking x and all the best
Hello Lara
Thank you for your reply, so if I receive a letter from the NHS then it will be good news.
My biopsy was on a Thursday and my next appointment was booked for following Thursday at a private hospital. It's a 7 day turn around there so I knew before hand the appointment was booked being good or bad news if that makes sense x
Some people get calls letters I don't think there's a rule of thumb it's based on how your consultant works
I wish you the best and hope you get good news lovely
love Lara ️
Hi, I am also waiting for biopsy results. The consultant who I saw told me that they will send a letter which will either state it is something benign or if the letter states an appointment is booked then it will be most likely sinister.
Good luck!
Bless you, thank you Lara, best wishes to you xxx
Thank you Paige, that's really helpful xx
Hi Amee,
Most consultants like to give all results face to face, but with the pressure of work in some areas, even bad news is delivered either by mail or by phone. On the whole, if you have been told to expect to hear by mail and then get an appointment, it can be bad news, although it's not always.
I have had 2 bouts of breast cancer and, on both occasions, I was told straight away by my consultant, that he expected my results to be cancerous. Needless to say, this was then confirmed by biopsy. Most consultants don't mince their words. They tell it as it is. If you have to go for your results, it is always a good idea to take someone with you.
Have you been told when to expect your results? I sincerely hope that nothing untoward is found.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
I had some biopsies taken 6 weeks ago and was told I was fast track within 4 weeks but nothing so I've had to chase them up. I've now been told to wait for my results in a letter so I'm panicking xx
