High Grade Dyskaryosis..

I had my smear almost 3 weeks ago and received a letter from hospital saying I had hpv and also high grade dyskaryosis.. I have a colposcopy booked for this Friday..

I am absolutely terrified, I already have symptoms of CC and have done for a while.. achey legs, stomach pain, lower back pain and also needing to wee very very often.

How possible is it that I already have cancer ? Will they tell me if they see cancer etc, I suffer really bad from health anxiety as it is, I'm only 31 and terrified of leaving my kids so young

    I'm sorry to hear that your most recent cervical screening results have come back showing that you are HPV positive and have some cell changes. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about your upcoming colposcopy. 

    There's lots of reliable and reassuring information available about HPV and cell changes available on the Jo's Trust website along with information you may find helpful about the colposcopy appointment. 

    In the meantime, I wonder if you might find it helpful to chat things through with one of our nurses. I'm sure they will be happy to offer any advice, support, and information that can ahead of your appointment on Friday.
