Lump in breast and lymph node

Hi,

I just needed some people who have been through/going through the same. I found a lump in my arm pit 3 months ago. Dr told me wait for a cycle. Waited and it's gotten bigger also now have a lump in breast. Went to breast clinic and had ultrasound and 4 biopsy. My breast lump is 3cm and lump in lymph node is 8cm. I am really anxious and scared as I'm only 26.

mine was her 2 negative no node positive but a teeny trace in one sentil node after my lumpectomy things sometimes change when the results come back I then had full removal of all lymph nodes they come back clear

my friend had her2 positive with 12 nodes positive she had lunpectomy and full node removal 6 years ago and is doing very well no sign of cancer now

you can do this trust your team

  • Hi Seaswimmer

Yes mine is invasive ductal carcinoma 3.5mm, HER2 positive, and has spread to lymph nodes (only one affected that they could see on ultrasound). What tests have you had if no mammogram or other scans yet? I'm older (60s) so had MMG, ultrasound and biopsies, then CT and bone scan. Thank God it hadn't spread anywhere. I know it's really scary right now, but as soon as you get a full diagnosis and treatment plan you'll feel so much better and calmer, knowing that treatments and response are excellent nowadays. I had chemo after which the cancer has disappeared, but will still need surgery (next week) and lymph node clearance. HER2 positive cancers have one of the best outcomes now thanks to Herceptin, so try to stay positive and trust your team. Happy to chat more if you would like to. God bless xx

  • Hi, Ism awaiting to have CT scan and MRI scan in next 2 weeks my oncologist appointment is 4th of April. Feel like ready to fight this rubbish away and reading everyone's positive responses help. Just keeping everything crossed hasn't spread elsewhere and just in my breast and lymph nodes. Thank you so much for all amazing support.

  • Hi,

I just wanted to ask someone, since finding out Friday I've had a headache (which goes with paracetamol) and feeling sick could this be down the news and all emotions and stress etc? Thank you x

  • Seaswimmer

headaches are very common due to stress not sleeping the same these will pass lovely , I also had a few in early in diagnosis due to shock also , be kind to yourself I spoiled myself rotten through those times me ne feel better

    hope the headaches go soon

  • Hi Seaswimmer, I had a sharp headache at the nape of my neck for ten days after being diagnosed and lost my appetite - certainly stress for me. I also got back pain and palpitations - all gone now. Stress does take a toll on the body for sure. I hope you get your treatment plan soon. I have been really encouraged by the many ways they can fight cancer.

  • Okay fhat will be what it is I assumed it would be stress and all the emotions. Not sleeping well due to having nightmares. Hoping this all passes once all scan results are back etc. my onoglist appointment is 4th April.

thank you for getting back to me so quick too I really appreciate it xxx

  • Hi, you pretty much covered everything I'm getting headaches palpitations chest pain and back pain! You automatically panic and think has it spread its it going to be bad news. Hope this gets easier at moment I feel like I'm experiencing an outta body expirence it's all overwhelming and hard to comprehend xx

  • I almost forgot the lump that appeared in my throat that has since completely disappeared. Yes, panic sets in and it's really hard to think straight. I don't know how but that awful time of not having all the information and thinking the worst does pass. Hang on in there - it will get better once a treatment plan is in place xx

  • I also have a 3cm lump in my left breast. For a male, a bit of a shock but not uncommon.

I have Stage IV metastasised Melanoma. I had all (22) lymph nodes removed on my left arm but one, a 'left-over', has gradually been growing over the last 6 months on my left breast.

I've had a biopsy and it is described as an enlarged benign lymph node and no reason for concern! Yours will, hopefully, be similar. The Radiologist gave me an indication that all was OK at the time of the biopsy. It isn't an uncommon situation.

(My concern was that as I had tumours on my lungs, liver, and adrenal glands, that this was just one more thing.)

Having my 22 lymph nodes removed has not caused me any problems other than losing feeling in my armpit and having lymphoedema -- which I live with and causes no pain. Don't worry.

Think positive, keep fit and healthy and eat healthily! Good luck.
