Worried about bowel cancer

Hello! 

So, I've had bowel issues since my 20s, I'm now 39 close to 40. When I was pregnant with my son 2 years ago my stomach problems got really bad and my calprotectin level was over 400. It has since gone back to normal and last result in November was 29. 

Today I went to toilet and I had diarrhea. First time I wiped no blood.. however I continued and second time I wiped there was blood. It covered the toilet paper and was diluted pink colour. Like when period is ending.. I'm so worried now its cancer!!! I have two kids and I'm terrified of leaving them.. I suffer from health anxiety and this is causing me to worry so much.

Has anyone had pink diluted blood in stool?

    I've got a colonoscopy on Thursday to see what's what with me. 

    I have also had a bad stomach since I can remember . A few years ago I started having episodes of diarrhea which then turned to just passing blood. Would last 1-3 days and was accompanied by severe stomach cramps. The blood is always like you describe, diluted light pink but sometimes bright red too.

    I'm really concerned also, I'm almost too scared to go on Thursday but know I should

    There are so many bowel issues that mimic those of bowel cancer. Crohns, colitis, diverticulitis, even piles and fissures which are all more likely at our age (also 39). Best thing to do is to go to gp and get a fit test and take it from there. Doctor may give you an examination as it could just be piles that they can see or feel themselves

    I'm sorry about how you're feeling. The best thing to do is to go and see your doctor about these problems, if you haven't updated them already. When you’re worried that you may have cancer, it can be tempting to think the worst, but this can end up increasing anxiety rather than making you feel better. And the only person that can diagnose you is your doctor. If you need help with your anxiety, Anxiety UK has some useful advice and information.
