Hello!

I am currently 19 weeks pregnant and have noticed some skin changes on my left breast for a couple of months now. There is some swelling on an area of my breast and some pinkiness/discolouration. 
 

I've been back and forth at the doctors about it. I was initially prescribed antibiotics and a Breast Clinic referral. By the time I visited the BC a week later, the area had looked a lot better. 
 

An ultrasound and examination confirmed that there was nothing of concern and said that it was likely mastitis and that the antibiotics helped it. I left there feeling content.

A few days later the swelling became more prominent again and then the discolouration came back a day or so after that. I went back to the doctors and they put me back on antibiotics and treated it as mastitis that didn't clear up properly.

A week later and my symptoms persisted with no signs of it improving - but it has never gotten worse. I went back to the doctors who examined me and said it's not mastitis and just put it down to being pregnancy related. Understandably, I was upset as I just wanted a formal diagnosis. I have been looking at Inflammatory Breast Cancer and the symptoms can be similar to mastitis - I'm so worried it could be that. 
 

After pushing with my GP, I have pushed for another BC referral and have one in just under 2 weeks. 
 

I have started to massage my breast as I read that this helps with mastitis and I do feel that that hempes reduce the swelling and discolouration - which I feel was why it went down initially and not the antibiotics.

Does anyone know what this could be? I'm not convinced it's an infection and the only other obvious cause could be IBC - but it's not getting worse and nothing came up kn the ultrasound, plus the appearances gets better now and again.

I don't have any pain, swelling anywhere else, no nipple changes/discharge.
