Vulva cancer?

Hi all. For the past year and a half I've had chronic itching and soreness in the vulva area. I've had every test under the sun and have been looked at multiple times with no diagnosis. A week ago, I noticed a hard lump on the vulva on the left hand side. I saw a doctor today and he said it's definitely not a cyst and he's sent me for a biopsy. Anyone had much experience with these symptoms before? I'm trying not to worry until I know what it is but wondered if there was anyone who had gone through something similar?

  • Hi, I'm replying to your message because no one else has just yet. I'm in the same boat but you're probably further along in the system than me, I'm awaiting my appointment with a dermatologist in early April, my doctor said she may want to do a biopsy. Right now April seems a very long way off.  What I have I'd describe as more of a ridge of thickened skin than a lump.  It's a bit worrying, the word biopsy is always a worry. But I'm trying not to worry until I know more and keeping my fingers crossed all is well. Let me know how you get on with your biopsy, hopefully it's just being done as a precaution x

  • Hi thanks for replying! It started bleeding last night so that was terrifying! I'm waiting on the date for my biopsy currently.  Hope everything goes ok in your journey. Keep me posted!

  • Keep me posted too, it would be good to talk to someone on a similar journey, as its not really something I feel I can talk to friends about, let me know how your biopsy goes, I have a lot of questions around that that I haven't asked yet as I don't know for sure that I will be having one although I'm kind of prepping myself that I will x

  • It's a lonely road isn't it really when you go through something like this. I never want to burden friends and family in this early stage cos if it's nothing to worry about I feel like I'm being a hypercondriact haha so yeah I'll deffo keep you posted! Reach out if you ever need me, we are in this together!
