Hi everybody, how long did you wait for your CT scan results? It's been 2 weeks now and I still haven't received them, is no news normally good news? I'm so anxious waiting
Our website has information on the CT scan on this page which mentions that you should normally get your results within 1-2 weeks and it does add that you should contact the doctor who arranged the test if you haven’t heard anything after a couple of weeks. It may be that they are just a little delayed and taking a little longer to give you your results. However, it wouldn't hurt if you haven't heard anything next week to give them a call and try and find out whether they have already got your results.
Ideally less than two weeks but that varies depending on the local staffing situation - some places do have big backlogs and in general the NHS has been short of radiologists for several years.
I'm afraid most diagnostic services are like a production lines, results take just as long regardless of whether the news is good or bad.
