Your GP is right to err on the side of caution. I presented with sinusitis plus nose beed, pain, blocked nostril - all signs of possible cancer and it is only possible until a diagnosis says otherwise. I was referred via 2 week referral. I met a lovely ENT surgeon who put a nasil endoscope up my nose.

I was expecting bad news but my sinuses were clear. He did however want me to have a ct scan to see if there was a blockage somewhere. 

Unfortunately, just before I had the ct scan, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and it was decided the focus had to be on that. 

I started using saline nose sprays and the symptoms got better over time. I still get some flair ups but they go after a day or two. 

This was 4 years ago.

Try not to worry, your GP just wants to see if there's anything there so you get any treatment if necessary.

I've looked on the NHS App and I'm already booked in for Monday 2nd March! I'm hoping I can take my husband with me. 

I was seen on Monday by a registrar in ENT clinic. Had a CT a scan today. 
The camera up my nose really hurt but she couldn't see any obvious nose symptoms so the CT scan is to look at my sinuses and she'll see me back in clinic in a couple of weeks. 
 

Mirrors what happened to me, I didn't go for the ct scan so will be interested to hear your experience once you have it.
