Pelvic scan but also did lungs?

Hi, had a pelvis scan yesterday but she wanted to do my lungs also is this normal? She wouldn't discuss the results either she said the doctor need to look and compare to my bloods

  • I've had 2 back MRI's, and not once did the person doing them want to tell me the results. My wife also found this during all her cancer scans. There was also signs up stating not to ask as you wouldn't get told. I had my scans in a different hospital to my wife, so I'm assuming this is normal practice.

The only time I have gotten results of sorts after a scan was the times i had ultrasounds. But that was only because the person doing them was the consultant.

Radiologists will rarely tell people.  Good or bad. It's not their job to do so. Maybe your consultant ordered the lung scan. I don't think they do other areas until instructed to do so. If something is found in one place, you'll usually get an appointment for "further scans/tests". So it was probably prearranged unbeknown to yourself.

All the scans mentioned above came back normal or in my wife's case, nothing more than what was already found during an US.
