Colposcopy

I went for a colposcopy today as my smear test shown moderate abnormal pre cancerous cells

didnt even get off starting point as I could not tolerate the pain of the speculum being inserted 

I know need to have a colposcopy and lletz procedure under general anaesthetic, my pre op is this Friday which seems very quick so I am really concerned 

why on earth can't I tolerate the speculum I even had to have my smear test under general anaesthetic

    I'm sorry to hear that your recent colposcopy appointment wasn't able to be completed. We know that for lots of different reasons, some women find this procedure very difficult to tolerate and we've had many women post here on the forum who have needed to have a general anaesthetic to complete their treatment. 

    Hopefully your pre-op today will bring you some reassurance you won't have to wait too long for your appointment.
