Biopsy on my pharynx, larynx, upper esophagus. Very worried

I went for my biopsy yesterday on my pharynx, larynx, upper esophagus and laryngeal and although my hospital doctor told me the large amount of white gunk on right side of my throat is probably due to smoking there's still a chance of pre-cancerous cells but 1 day after my through has swollen to the size of a small tomato and I can't speak I'm terrified it's the 2nd thought.ive no idea weather I should discuss this as I feel its to early but if anyone can advise me it would be massively appreciated.

  • Hello Gordon77

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health problems and that earlier this week you needed to have a biopsy. It's understandable that you're feeling anxious about what may be responsible for your symptoms and what this white patch that the Dr was able to see may be.

Hopefully things have settled and the swelling has started to reduce but if you're at all concerned about things then do get in touch with the hospital or your GP.

We know that waiting for tests and results can be a difficult time for many people. Sometimes it can help to talk to someone about how you're feeling. If you'd like to chat things through with one of our nurses you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

I hope that you have some news soon. Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
