Why was I not told on the day. ?

Hi all

 

just a quick background story.. back in October 2022 my dr sent me for an US on my thyroid's.. it came back with T4 suspicious nodules , and fluid filled nodules. Also early onset of multinodular goitre. Was supposed to have an USFNA within two weeks, however I finally had it done 26th January 2023 ! 
 

im supposed to get the results this Thursday, so a long wait. Only I've been told only now that they didn't biopsy the suspicious nodules myself and my dr we're concerned about, they biopsied a different part of my neck so even more worried now. Has this happened to anyone else. ? And why didn't they tell me when I was having the biopsy that they were taking it from elsewhere?

    Thanks for posting.

    I'm sorry to read about your situation.

    It's difficult for us to say why they took a biopsy from different parts of your neck, this is something only your doctor can elaborate on so it might be a good idea to write a list of questions beforehand to ask when you go to collect your results on Thursday.
