Hi, 

I've just had my appointment on Monday at the breast clinic. I was checked by one doctor then sent for my mammogram then I was given an ultrasound. The doctor then looked at the results & was told a biopsy was required. All this took nearly 4hrs as I was waiting around as well for the different stages. I needed all that as the was serious cause for concern. I am based in Scotland though, not sure what it's like in England. Gives you an idea what happens for the full 4 hrs as worst case. Hopefully you may only need a mammogram.

Im in scotland too, i was just under the 2 hours , think it depends on how busy they are and waiting about between sections, i had consultant then mammo then ultsaound/biopsy then another mammo before seeing consultant again x

I advise to take a book or something in with you just in case you do get the full works. It will keep you occupied, especially if you go alone. My kindle was a life saver x

Hi Susie, this was my experience too: mammogram, ultrasound, biopsy, marker inserted, mammogram to check location of marker, consultation with doctor. I was told that the lump looked suspicious, so I was glad that my partner was with me for moral support and to drive me home. I'm not saying you will get bad news, but it's good to be prepared. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Is this a call back to the clinic from a previous mammogram? Possibly they were not happy with it, saw something or pictures not clear. 

Clinic appointments always long as mammogram done, so Dr to discuss what the mammogram shows, maybe ultrasound and biopsies need to be taken and them you'll have another mammogram. 

Mine was like that a couple of weeks ago. 

If biopsies taken you have 2 weeks to wait for results and then back to hospital.

Try not to worry, I know it's hard but everyone on here has been through it at sometime. And will tell you the same.
