Lymph Node Biopsy

Hey I'm a 26 year old male. Today I went for an ultrasound on my neck and right underarm for swollen lymph nodes which have been present for 5 years, the lady who done my neck said their fine but I had a doctor scan my lymph node under my arm and asked do I want a biopsy which I agreed too at this time I was really worried and bombarded him with questions one of his replies was he's 90% convinced it's not lymphoma but wanted to do the biopsy so he knows 100%. I'll also say I have really bad acne on my back,chest and shoulders which a lot of GPs have said is the cause for the swelling in the nodes any input would be massively appreciated guys thanks I'm a worrying mess at the moment lol!

    Young man - take a moment to relax and read back what you have just written. It seems every professional you've spoken with regarding these lumps has told you they are nothing to worry about.

    I can tell you, if you had lymphoma lumps for 5 years, you most likely wouldn't still be around to tell us about them, or at the very least would be very poorly indeed by now.

    my instinct tells me you have consulted with Dr.Google and driven yourself mad with worry down a rabbit hole that you didn't need to go down.. I've been there.

    Thanks for your reply and that's what everyone keeps saying to me it's just the fact the Dr's nearly 100 percent convinced its benign but done the biopsy anyway that confuses me

    You're reading too much in to it.

    I biopsy is the ONLY way to tell for certain if a lump is benign. It would be no good him saying 'I'm almost 100% sure it will be fine so let's just leave it'

    the only way your dr will be able to confirm what he may or may not already feel he knows, is with a biopsy

    Apologies I'm just really anxious after 5 years of not knowing what it actually is and no they haven't got bigger if anything they can go smaller depending how bad my acne is they change in size but not larger only smaller. So for the doctor saying he's more or less convinced it's benign is he aloud to say that as in a duty of care prospective apologies if that don't make much sense
