Hello ladies,
I wanted to share my experience for others that are worried about receiving a call to come in for a face to face results appointment. To give you a bit of background. I found a lump back in 2020 (aged 42) and after a mammogram and biopsy I was told it was all fine just a thickened area of dense breast tissue but I'd have regular mammograms to keep an eye on it. So after I developed a rash on my breast in December I was sent for another mammogram (btw this was an excema rash and wasn't related thankfully) so I then had a call a week later to say that there had been a change and could I go in for a 3D mammogram to get a clearer picture. So at this appointment they also did an ultrasound and core biopsy which was much more invasive than the first biopsy I had and after an agonising 2 week wait I got a phone call asking me to come in for a face to face results appointment. Of course I was worried as I received my negative results over the phone the last time back in 2020. At my appointment I was told there had been a change in the lump area and it was a lobular carcinoma in situ (not cancer) but it puts me at a high risk of developing invasive BC so they are getting me in for an MRI another biopsy using a larger needle covering a larger area and then following up with removing the lump. (Using the MRI to determine which method depending how close to the skin it is) so just wanted to let you all know it's not always bad news at a face to face appointment there are often times where there's been a change and they need to discuss things with you and there are follow up procedures. I hope this puts some of your minds at ease as I was super anxious waiting to find out.
sending love to you all Josa x
